UFSL Plant II has been winning an award for the last three consecutive years for the blood donation in industrial sector Puducherry.

Every year blood donation camps are conducted by the Blood bank of Indira Gandhi government hospital in and around Puducherry. Camps are held in various places like in Educational institutions, Industrial areas by NGO’s and Volunteers. The staffs of Plant II have contributed large volumes of blood in the camps held every year. UFSL staffs have received the Top spot certificate with a trophy for the contribution.

In co-ordination with Rotary Central-TTK-VHS Blood Bank, MM Nagar Women's Self Help Group arranged Blood donation camp in the factory on 21st March 2009. 102 units of blood were donated by the employees.

UFSL maintains 'Gandhi Park' at Maraimalai Nagar for the benefit of the public as a part of environment conservation activity. Two Hundred trees were planted in the Maraimalai Nagar factory premises on 21st March 2009, as part of the inaugural day celebration of the factory.

UFSL and its employees support the Local orphanages like Udavum Ulangal in and around Maraimalai Nagar. In addition, UFSL employees have sponsored the education of 11 needy children studying in St.Joseph Matriculation School, M.M.Nagar as a part of Ayudha pooja celebration. UFSL has funded the construction of classrooms and toilets for a Government School in Puducherry.

A half a day training program titled "Born to win" was conducted in the Plant-1 training centre on 03.09.09 for women's self help groups to help them develop entrepreneurial skills and understand the nuances of small scale business today. 86 students have also been trained for employability through in-plant training.

A Car rally for the blind ,an annual event conducted by Madras Motor Sports Club in association with National Association for Blind is sponsored by UFSL since 1990, to increase the confidence level of the blind.

Free Eye checkup camp that was conducted in Plant-1 through Dr. Agarwal eye Hospital from 1st to 4th of July 2008 has helped 302 employees who have got their eyes checked and got discount cards for treatment of their family members.

UCAL has adopted 'Kadambur', a village about 5 kilometers away from the Maraimalai Nagar factory. The village classified as backward in a survey conducted by the Department of Social Work of Sacred Heart College. Four Medical Camps have already been organized in this village. Further development plans that include promoting education, children and old age care activities have been implemented.

Staffs of UFSL Puducherry plant have donated Two Almirahs, Blankets. Provisions and Toys to ‘Baby Sarah’, a home for mentally challenged children in Pondicherry on Women's Day.
